Camp Sayarim - General
Camp Sayarim Is one of the senior attractive Jewish camps in the world. The camp is run by the Europian office of Bnei Akiva, and is operated by the best of the Shlichim and counselors from Europe and Israel .
During the camp, the participants engage in a variety of activities, involving fun, experience and fascination, all conducted by the best mentors. They enjoy athletic contests, navigation trips and many more surprises.
Participants of Camp Sayarim :
Camp Sayarim is catered for European Jewish youth, aged 15-16. During the last few years, an Israeli delegation has joined the camp.
Cost:
The exact cost will be announced by each local Shaliach, and will include traveling fees.
Required equipment:
Counselors:
- Local language song books
- Local language Chumasim
- Siddur for each participant
Participants:
Tefila :
- Tafilin & Siddur
- Chumash (for Shabbat and weekdays) – with translation, if necessary.
Clothing:
- Shabbat cloths – including a white shirt and blue trousers or skirt
- Bnei Akiva shirt – advisable
- Shirts, trousers, skirts, pullovers (warm and light clothing) – there is no washing machine in the camp.
Hikes:
- Small comfortable strong bag
- Hat – hiking is forbidden with no hat
- Walking shoes + extra pare of shoes or sandles
- Sleeping bag – compulsory
- Small torch
- 2 bottles of 1.5 lites
- Rain coat (or get wet)
Washing:
- Toiletries / towel / linens (besides the sleeping bag)
VERY IMPORTANT:
Each participant must make sure that he/she has a medical insurance.
Please report to the management of the camp about any allergies
Please bring any medication you use on a regular basis
General behavior rules:
Apart from being a fascinating fun social event, joining members from Israel and Europe together, one of the main goals of the camp is uniting. This unity has held the Jewish nation together for 2000 years of exile, and has enabled us to establish the state of Israel .
We are fully aware of the differences between members from different countries, and we would like to do our best to avoid awkward situations for any of the participants. Therefore, we hope that the following rules shall be accepted with understanding.
Boys:
- Hat / Yarmulke at all times, including hikes.
- No sleeveless shirts.
- No gap between the trousers and shirt.
- White shirt and movement uniform for Shabbat.
Girls:
- Trousers: not tight (even during hikes), must cover knees.
- No sleeveless shirts, no low necks.
- Waist area must be covered.
- Trousers are forbidden on Shabbat.
General:
- Attendance at all praying services is compulsory, including during hiking.
- Girls are forbidden to enter boys' rooms and vice versa.
- Laws of Kashrut are implied according to the local Beith-Din. Non-kosher food is not to be brought to the camp.
- Shabbat laws are to be kept throughout the entire camp site.
- Smoking is forbidden.
- Alcohol, drugs and sexual intercourse is forbidden. Breaking this law could lead to expulsion.

Miscellaneous:
- Camp shirts shall be offered for €10 each. If interested in purchasing one – please give in your size when enlisting for the camp. Purchasing a shirt is not compulsory.
- Cold drinks and sweets will be sold on the site.
